The Grünhorn network paves the way for medical cannabis extracts from SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals in Portugal to enter the German market.
In the course of the global discussion on cannabis, the increasing importance of cannabis extracts for shaping the modern medical landscape is becoming increasingly apparent. Consumption without inhalation is particularly attractive for health-conscious patients and doctors as extracts become of higher quality.
SOMAÍ in partnership with Grünhorn is launching the first products of its broad innovative portfolio in Germany. Grünhorn, Germany's largest cannabis network, is expanding its portfolio with the products from Portugal. At Grünhorn Pharmacy, the extracts are available on prescription for patients starting from March 18, and through our wholesaler canymed.com for pharmacies across Germany: "I am excited about SOMAÍ's expertise as a cutting-edge extract manufacturer within our Grünhorn network," says Stefan Fritsch, founder of the Grünhorn network. "The partnership aligns with our mission to provide patients access to diverse and innovative cannabis extracts."
New extracts in the Grünhorn Portfolio
The product line offers patients in Germany a selection of medical formulations made from cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids with varying THC and CBD content (including 25:1, 10:10, 2,5:25 and 25:25 ratios). The special thing about these extracts is that they are carefully purified: SOMAÍ's extraction method preserves the medically effective components of the respective variety. Plant components in the cannabis flower without scientifically proven therapeutic value, such as lipids, carbohydrates, chlorophyll, and polyphenols, are seperated up to 90% in the purification process. These components are responsible for the bitter taste in conventional crude oil extracts, which is eliminated. In short: desired substances are kept in the extract, while undesired substances are gently removed. Furthermore, consistent cultivars serve as the starting material for SOMAÍ extracts, ensuring high product stability.
With the introduction of these innovative extracts in the German market, SOMAÍ and Grünhorn take another step towards modern forms of cannabis consumption. Michael Sassano, CEO of SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals, states: "I am proud that we can now offer our extracts in Germany with Germany’s largest cannabis network. SOMAÍ has stabilized over 86 extracted SKU’s and continues to produce more advanced formulas and delivery methods, for the most basic and advanced global cannabis markets. As German extract regulations progress, we hope to bring more of our full range of advanced products to doctors and patients.”
