Germ-Free and Non-Irradiated – Grünhorn Responds to Patient Demands
Grünhorn is introducing its own products to the German market. The cannabis flowers have been cultivated in clean rooms to reduce germs preventively, are non-irradiated, and are well below the acceptable limits set by PH.Eur and DAB. Full-spectrum capsules and extracts are expected to follow.
As the umbrella brand of Germany's largest cannabis network, Grünhorn is now launching its own products in the German market through its distribution partner, Canymed. Instead of post-production irradiation, the flowers have been cultivated in a process designed for preventive germ reduction, preventing microbial contamination. The cultivars are hand-trimmed and meet quality standards in accordance with DAB (German Pharmacopoeia) and European Pharmacopoeia (Ph.Eur.).
The flowers are grown indoors in specialized clean rooms where lighting is powered by 100% renewable hydroelectric energy and where overpressure prevents air or particles from entering. The air and water used are filtered multiple times. The result is total germ counts of the flowers in accordance with Ph.Eur. standards of TAMC (<100 KBE/g) and TYMC (<10 KBE/g). This addresses patient expectations for non-irradiated yet germ-free flowers.
"Grünhorn stands for exceptional quality standards. The brand combines qualified manufacturers, analyses, and extensive quality controls with various dosage forms, as well as research and training through the Grünhorn Academy. When selecting our partners, we place the highest value on years of experience in medical cannabis cultivation, GMP processes, and an extraordinary commitment to the product and its underlying processes. We will continue to search intensively for high-quality strains to provide more patients with secure access to cannabis therapy," says Stefan Fritsch, founder of the Grünhorn network.
